Animal Caregiver Assistant

The Animal Caregiver Assistant position is a part-time position, working variable hours. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who hopes to build a career with animals.
This Assistant reports to the Animal Care Director, performing a variety of duties in support of our mission to provide “heaven on earth” to the beloved animals of Indraloka.

Nature of work

This is a dirty job involving heavy physical labor, and daily exposure to common allergens.

Animal Care

Lovingly providing water, and care for the animals.
Providing occasional assistance with simple maintenance and/or repair of grounds, structures, pastures, fences.
Utilizing tools, cleaning barns and stalls.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Committed to and passionate about Indraloka’s vision and values.
Experienced in caring for rescued farmed animals preferred.
Able to work outside in every weather extreme.
Able to carry 50 pounds or more.
Valid driver’s license required.
Pennsylvania criminal history and child abuse clearance required.
Federal background check required
Able to understand and precisely follow oral and written directions.
Willing to work flexible hours including weekends and some holidays

Hours and Location:

Part-time time. Weekend, Holiday and evening work will be required. This job is onsite in Dalton, PA

Compensation and Start date:

Pay: $10-$12 per hour. Start Date is immediately.
