Have you ever cuddled with a friendly cow or pig? Do you remember what it feels like to spend an evening among fireflies? Or the moment you learned a new skill or concept to help you live a healthy life? Have you ever experienced the satisfaction of eating something you grew? When was the last time you had dirt under your fingernails?

Earth Camp at Indraloka Animal Sanctuary is a full week of moments like these. Indraloka is a haven for connecting, learning, and healing through experiences with animals and nature… a place where kids can be kids, free to enjoy and experience life as it happens… a place where great care and compassion abound.

10303378_10203574370617110_7830752946721874330_nWe are excited to be offering our first ever Earth Camp for 5th-8th graders from Monday, July 20 – Sunday, July 26.  The week-long day camp, with an optional overnight on the last night, will be led by veteran teacher Mike Freidlin, who has grown very popular with children and their parents for making science accessible and fun for over 35 years.  Earth Camp is an opportunity for your child to experience first-hand connections with gentle, rescued farm animals and to deepen their understanding of and appreciation for the natural world around them.  Mike will be joined by a staff of professional teachers who will lead your child in nature walks, science experiments, cooking lessons, animal care activities, art with nature, animal yoga, photography, music, and drama activities.

Sunday, the last day of camp, is Parents’ Day.  Your child will have the opportunity to share with you all the things s/he has learned and accomplished during Earth Camp.

Optional transportation from Clarks Summit will be available to those who need it.

The cost of the camp is $250.00 for the week.  This includes all activities, food, and the optional sleep-over on the last day.  A $125.00 deposit must be paid at the time of registration to secure your child’s spot.  We can accommodate 20 children.  The remaining amount will be due by July 10, 2015.

We have two options to pay:

1) Download and complete the 2015 Earth Camp Registration Form and  pay online

2) Print and mail your completed registration form and $125.00 deposit check to Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, PO Box 155, Mehoopany, PA 18629.
