Sora is a mellow lady who always takes the lead. As a little chick, she and hundreds of others were in cages on their way to slaughter when something extraordinary happened: cages containing hundreds of baby chickens fell off of the truck that was transporting them. As luck would have it, an Indraloka volunteer who was driving by saw the accident and called us right away. We were honored to take in Sora and 78 of her friends. You can learn more about Sora’s rescue on our YouTube channel. (This video contains disturbing images.)
Sora spends her time hanging out with older chickens as well as the turkeys. Though she is very independent and enjoys doing her own thing, she is a natural leader; most of the other chickens join in whatever she is doing.
She is chilled out most of the time but knows when to switch into hyper-drive, like when it’s treat time! Sora loves being held by her favorite humans, especially when they bring her tomatoes- a particular favorite of hers!
Sora would love for you to join her Circle of Compassion.
You can join it by sponsoring her with a monthly donation of any amount.
