Summers at Indraloka are full of feathers, fur, friends, and fun!


Parents and kids might have a lot of questions and we hope to answer some of them below.

Get a general idea of Summer Camp at Indraloka, of how kids spend the day, and what’s on the menu.

No 2 days are the same, and
no 2 kids have the same experience.

Registration is required prior to camp, and many weeks will fill quickly.

Refund Policy

A formal request for a refund can be made for the cost minus $35 three or more weeks prior to the start date of camp.  Refunds cannot be provided otherwise.

In the case of sickness or injury missing a full week of camp, with a medical note a credit can be made to your Indraloka account for a future camp experience.

We are offering 12 weeks of unique camps

All weeks are currently $175/week with a 10% off code provided for more than one week, or more than one child.

Optional Before and After Care:
$100/week (7AM-9AM, 3PM-5:30 PM)  
This includes care for children who may need early drop off and/or late pick up daily and includes additional snacks.

Kindness CAMPS

Campers will spend the week creating art, music, playing, storytelling, and adventuring alongside the rescued farm animals at Indraloka.

Activities will be geared towards kindness and compassion to others, and also to ourselves.

July 3 will be an optional ‘Bring Your Family To Camp’ Day. $15/person includes picnic lunch and tour. (Sign up the week before camp.)

We have worked carefully and successfully with food allergies. Please register and report ALL food allergies as early as possible. 

Once the menu is set, we do not have the flexibility to make changes.

  • Hummus fruit and veggie tray or PBJ (Downtown Deli)
  • PBJ or “chicken” sandwich (Umami Gorilla)
  • Macaroni and cheese or PBJ (Maximum Zen)
  • Pizza (Basilicos) or Uncrustables
  • Nuggets and fries or PBJ (Around the World Catering Truck)

We will have fruit, crackers, chips, fruit snacks, pretzels, bread, and peanut butter available in case picky eaters do not like their meal. Each lunch will include a side and dessert.

There are 2 additional snack times each day.

ITINERARY SAMPLE

There will be many more games and activities, many different animal visits, and art projects, but this is an overview of the day.

Depending upon the number of campers, we will split them into groups so that they get the quality time they deserve with the animals etc.  Groups will be changed each day, and there will still be many activities throughout the day as a whole camp.

Career Exploration Camp

Campers will spend a week interacting with Animal Caregivers, Caregiver Assistants, Facilities staff, shadow the vet and vet techs in the NEPA Rescue Veterinary Clinic, and learn about other job opportunities within the Indraloka organization. 

This camp will focus on social skills, professionalism, kindness, leadership, workplace behavior, respect, goal setting, interview skills, self sufficiency, and confidence- all while having fun, playing games, learning new skills, and interacting with the animals. 

Lunch and snacks will be provided, and participants will assist with their meal preparation and serving each day.

This will be a technology-free week, however arrangements can be made with staff in the case of specific individual needs for check ins with a family member throughout the camp day.

The Camp focuses on career exploration and diverse skills and occupations here on the grounds of the sanctuary including:

  • Animal Care
  • Barn beautification/cleaning, water troughs, produce sorting
  • Tour Guide training
  • Meal Preparation
  • Vet Assistant/tech Shadowing
  • Veterinary Shadowing
  • Maintenance- Art Barn, feed rooms, clinic cleaning, event prep
  • Personal Hygiene- Proper cleaning after all jobs, preparing lunch, etc
  • Laundry- washer, dryer, folding, sorting
  • Gardening/Groundskeeping
  • Photography and other arts

These areas will be explored with a very hands-on approach under the careful supervision and support of the Director of Education, along with vet clinic staff

EARTH CAMP

A unique technology-free 5-day summer camp where kids ages 5-14* will enjoy a full day of outdoor adventures, cow cuddles, pig snuggles, sheep hugs, art, crafts, legos, puzzles, games, and so much more creative, playful, nature-based compassion filled fun!

A kid-friendly plant based lunch and snacks will be provided.

* Kindness Camp is designed for ages 5-9 only. 

  • They talked about making friends! My younger son talked about the animals a lot.

  • Pack a change of clothes every day – all ages
  • Sneakers or boots ONLY!  No flip flops or sandals.  Crocs can be worn indoors.
  • Based on the weather be prepared for mud, water games, and animal snuggles
  • Lunch and 2 snacks provided. No outside food, please!

2024 Camp Survey Results

Of the adults surveyed:

  •  100% felt the program matched their expectations
  • 100% felt the program was a good value for the cost
  • 100% felt their campers had a positive experience overall
  • 47.1% felt they saw a positive attitudinal change in their campers after a week of Earth Camp
