Veterinary Technician – Small & Mixed Animal
Part-time
About Us
At Indraloka Animal Sanctuary, we believe every life matters — and that healing extends to both animals and the people who care for them. Our nonprofit NEPA Rescue Veterinary Clinic provides compassionate, high-quality medical care for rescued farm animals, companion animals, and our local rescue partners. We’re building a clinic culture rooted in compassion, collaboration, and integrative medicine — one that honors body, mind, and spirit.
The Role
We’re seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Whether you’re a recent graduate eager to learn or an experienced technician seeking meaningful, mission-driven work, you’ll find a supportive environment here. You’ll assist our veterinarians in providing medical and surgical care for both farm and companion animals, help develop integrative protocols that emphasize prevention and wellness, and play a key role in advancing compassionate veterinary medicine.
What You’ll Do
- Provide nursing care, diagnostics, surgery support, and emergency response across multiple species
- Maintain medical records and communicate effectively with veterinarians and caregivers
- Support integrative and preventive care — from nutrition and laser therapy to rehabilitation and holistic modalities
- Assist in rescues, rehabilitation, and behavioral support for fearful or injured animals
- Help train staff in safe handling, SOPs, and emergency procedures
- Contribute your voice and ideas to a clinic that’s redefining veterinary care with compassion at its core
What You Bring
- Veterinary Technician certification or equivalent experience (all career phases welcome)
- Interest or experience in small and/or large animal care — training provided for new species
- Calm, kind, reliable presence under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for learning and openness to integrative approaches
- Ability to perform outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
What We Offer
- Life insurance, 401(k) plan, HSA, dental and vision insurance
- Generous paid time off
- Veterinary care for your own companion animals at cost
- Opportunities for ongoing education and skill development
- A voice in shaping and guiding the clinic’s growth
- A supportive environment dedicated to preventing burnout and compassion fatigue
- The chance to make a real difference — for animals, people, and the planet
Why This Role Matters
In a field facing record levels of burnout, NEPA Rescue Veterinary Clinic offers something rare — purpose, balance, and belonging. Here, you’ll work where healing is reciprocal: a sanctuary for animals and for the people who care for them.
