She spent more than 8 years on a dairy farm. Likely torn from her own mother at birth, Justice was forcibly impregnated as soon as she was old enough to carry a baby. But like her, the babies she bore would never know their mother’s love.
On a dairy farm, babies mean little – it’s the milk that’s prized.
Now, too spent and tired to bear another calf, Justice had run out of time. It was off to slaughter for her…until someone spoke up for her.
A caring friend was able to convince the farmer to spare her life.
He would find her a home if there was just a bit more time. The farmer agreed. Justice was saved–IF a home could be found.
When our friend called, we knew we were the right home for Justice.
Right away we started making preparations. A quarantine space is prepared and we’ve been working with a sponsor to make sure she has all she needs–now and in the future. Justice will be home in just a few days. We can’t wait to meet her!
